Happy Birthday America!

It's no secret that the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. This 4th of July was also the 3rd anniversary of my mission. 3 years ago yesterday, I entered into the Argentina MTC as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. What a marvelous day.

The 4th of July was actually our first day here in Colorado Springs! It was such a nice, quiet day. We took a nap, made patriotic pancakes (trying to maneuver in our teeny tiny kitchen ;), and then went exploring! It made me think of last year in Houston, when we watched the fireworks, while cuddling on a blanket, in the downtown park. Good times. We went downtown to set up a place to watch fireworks, but quickly decided to head up to the mountains. It was wonderful. We waited and waited until it got darker and then the show began! The fireworks echoed through the canyon and were about at eye level.

Happy Birthday, America!
